Cilantro, also known as Coriander, is a soft hairless plant with broad leaves at the bottom of the stem and feathery leaves at the top of the stem. The leaves and stem are both edible and are said to taste similar to parsley but more juicy with a citrus overtone. The leaves and stems of cilantro are an important ingredient in many Asian foods, such as Thai green curry paste and is an essential spice to Mexican salsa and guacamole. They can also be used as a garnish on cooked dishes. Cilantro has high levels of Vitamin C and Vitamin A.
